传统节日是一宗重大的民族文化遗产，它是民族成员情感、知识、智慧、伦理规范的凝聚。它不仅是我们创造民族新文化的凭借与基础，同时它也构成了我们时代生活的一部分。虽然从文化整体上看，传统文化已经成为过去，但其中优秀的文化精华部分，融入了我们的生活，成为镶嵌在我们新时代衣衫上的熠熠生辉的珍宝。传统节日就是这样的文化瑰宝，它的文化价值与文化魅力不仅奠定了它在世界人类非物质文化遗产中的历史地位，同样也影响着民族文化的未来，

Traditional Festivals: the National Cultural Heritage of Great Importance

The traditional festivals, which are different from the common holidays, are important part of the national cultural heritage. The traditional festivals are the days of showing the people’s spiritual believes, aesthetic interests, ethical relationships and consume habits, so it contains plenty of historical and cultural meanings. And they have grown deeply in the heart of the national culture. With this in concern, we should know well about their cultural meanings and values, and should also do something to help the handing down and the construction. I am going to discuss my opinion in three aspects: (i)discuss the relation of festivals and the intangible cultural heritage; (ii)discussion on the essence of national festival traditions: reflections of tradition at festival’s material life level, reflections of tradition at festival’s social life level, reflections of tradition at festival’s spiritual life level; (iii) Traditional festivals and modern society: festivals are an effective method to hand down the national culture. Festivals are an important measure to improve the national confidence. Festivals are a basic foundation and carrier to develop the national new culture. Festivals are a cultural motive to produce harmonious society. The investigation, the study and the protection for the national and traditional festivals are urgent work in recent times.
