本书是一部全英文的大众学术推广专著，由北方民族大学非物质文化遗产研究所所长武宇林教授的专著《中国“花儿”通论》节选编译而成。本书反映了中国“花儿”民歌全貌，全书共分五章：“花儿”概论、“花儿”的主题、“花儿”的基本形式、“花儿”的修辞、“花儿”中的民族特色和民俗现象。书后附有相应的中文译文，并标注汉语拼音。
作者简介
杨晓丽，北方民族大学副教授，研究方向为语言学、翻译，出版译著2部，编著1部，期刊论文10余篇。
史若兰(Caroline Elizabeth Kano)，英国籍，日本东京外国语大学英语及英国文学教授，专业为英语学及汉语等，擅长中英文诗歌研究。她曾在英国伦敦大学专攻汉语言专业，在日本广岛大学中文专业攻读硕士研究生学位，研究方向为中国现代诗歌。
