冬季学期，修了一门《人类学的中国研究》的课程，老师选择西方学者关于中国研究的代表性文章，每堂课都有主题词。同学们阅读文献，然后在课堂上进行讨论。第一堂课老师首先讨论的问题就是“人类学的中国研究”这个“中国”到底指的是什么？老师提出来Anthropology of China, Anthropology in China, and Anthropology about China也作为本堂课的介绍。最后一堂课Nation, State, and Nationalism又回归到何为“中国”这个问题上来。
